A yoga school requires the feeling of a clear and uncluttered space, and also sufficient discreet storage so that shoes, chairs, and equipment can be easily and invisibly packed away. In this low-budget fitout of an existing building, our emphasis was on the careful design of artificial lighting, and taking advantage of natural light from windows on both the North and South sides. Picking up the pattern of the existing waffle ceiling in subtle details of the bathroom and kitchenette tiling, the project uses infilled plywood boxes for storage, and for defining the new entry, change room, and office areas.
